The baron has a dead rise of 28 degrees at the stern and a beam of 7 feet. Great rough water boats. Here is a link to my baron project http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/c...8-project.html They are built to last forever with a very thick layup and a transom that is about 2.5 inches thick.

Thanks for the post Captain and some job you are doing! 28 degrees of deadrise, wow. I thought the old Sutphen's had the steepest at 26 degrees and then an even plusher ride from the old school Bertrams. Talk about wave crusher It almost looks like the Baron 28 interior could be a sit down design if you wanted that. Very elegant lines on your hull.

Nice boat Captain, I do not think I have ever seen a Bertram in Canadian waters but I am probably wrong.

Great lines. Thanks all for sharing the photos and information. You folks certainly know your offshore boat history.

Somebody bring one to a rendezvous please. If they ride as good as they look, I want one.

PS...how do you get twin SB's in a 7' beam? Are they staggered?

Years ago Outlaw made a knock off of the 28' Bertram. Dont know how many were made or where they built them, this one was for sale about 5 years ago.

    [ QUOTE=$originalposter]{$pagetext}[/QUOTE]

The small blocks make for a very tight engine bay that must be a nightmare to work on. I've kept the original inline 292 engines in mine and built them up for a little more power. The original engines and boat only have 170 hours of total use on them so I thought it would be a shame to replace them. Here is a picture of the inline engine bay. Its a joy to work on, you can climb inside, sit down and work in comfort.

What kind of performance do you get from 12cyls?

Capt Tyler, the boat is gorgeous--I just went through your entire restoration thread and I was blown away. Incredible job. Can't wait to see how things turn out in the Spring when she finally goes back in the water again. -Mike

Is the Baron at the begining of the thread for sale? I have a buddy that would love to own one.
