    16 carb

I have let me 16 sit for way to long, I pumped the bad gas out, put new filters in , now it will run above 2k rpm's but will not stay alive below that so I feel I need to rebuild the carb, I am fairly mechanical but was wondering if any one had any tips or tricks, it a 1998 Mercruiser 4.3 with a two barrel . Thanks

rev the motor yo 3000 rpm and snap the choke closed then open the throttle whyle doing this..do it several times, this will suck the crap out of the idle circuit..if it dont work then time for a rebuild..

BTW you will have to remove the throttle linkge b4 doing this.
