I am running about the same hp 383, I gained 3 mph bringing my RPM's down from 5400 down to 5000. A 383 makes good torque use it, I would try to borrow a set of 29's that should get you close 5100 IMO you will do better there.

    props

If the 29's work for you ,I have a set 29's due to the fact I bought 2 drives from a twin engine formula and use only one and maybe need a set 31's for my set up

I'm not saying to do it, maby try to get more input, but I run some cup on the blade tip and that could shave 200 rpm. Not sure about the handling/performance gains.

bor, I might be interested in a set of 29's if craig doesn't take them. I'll pm you about price etc.

    ding!ding!ding!

    31 sounded a little steep anyway - 29 sounds like a winner!

I have found 400 rpm between prop sets. You need to load the motor like mop stated. Use the torque gain some speed. As we have stated before lets get together in Trenton for some testing. Then we will have 16, 18, and 22 with bh along with 27, 29, 30, and 31's to try. I would say you are close, the 29's will help load the motor and if anything create some mid range speed and maybe a couple ticks on the speedo. I know that with a set of 31's my boat will run a couple mph more on the top, but the Hoss 30's give me the best combo. The way bh props go if a set come available you buy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When one of you finally raise your X then you will get the full benefit of the drive, remember Steve's 18 setup properly turned a best of 79 with a bone stock 300 Merc! With 400 HP you guys will be into the high 80's maybe a tad more.
