    Great Cut-Away !

    Greg:

You can't get a much smaller & tighter lower gear-case housing than the Speedmaster.

A very streamlined low-profile unit ineded.

There is not very much room for much lube down in the lower housing cavity there.

I ran a Mercruiser #2 Speedmaster & TRS upper on my Formula 27 for 15 years. Big Block 330 HP worked up to 365 HP.
This was a Borg- Warner Velvet-Drive Hydraulic transmission unit.
It was a great package, very robust, and is still going strong still today going on six years since I sold that boat.
I ran the living daylights out of that drive package.
