    Red Mistress lives.

Just got home from Rootsys house and picked up the newest addition to my family. Red Mistress is her name. Well documented restoration has taken hee so far... now its my turn to finish where Jamie left off. It is going to be a daunting task and I will be relying on most of your help go help guide me through.
    Thank you all in advance,
    Buddy

Jamie and Patti are great people...He walked me through everything he did and its easy to be impressed with his know how and overall good nature. Jamie laughed as we put it on the trailer realizing he must have put 500lbs of extra fiberglass when he was doing the hull.
I also got boxes and boxes of extra "stuff" he had for her. I was impressed with the condition of the extierior of the hull and deck. She is straight, solid and true. Im going to take inventory of what I have and what needs to be done, Tray to make a a list ( Long list) of what needs to be done
I thinking a realistic deadline of next year for getting her in the water. Its going to be an exciting jounrney

    Buddy:

Did Rootsy (Jamie) finish-up all the needed fiberglass & wood core work ? ~~~
I know he did quite a bit of work on her already.
    OR
Do you still have more glass core work to do on the Mistress ?

What about Engine & outdrive ?
What drive came with this project. Volvo 250 ?

I've done all of the interior core and fiberglass work except for a few things that may need consideration. First being the cockpit floor. I didn't dig into it and it felt pretty solid so I didn't bother to cut it open. I suggested to Buddy that he look at it when he gets the deck off. I tossed in enough balsa that he should have enough coring to do it, hopefully. The ski locker needs to be finished, the one I created a mold for and laid up. The deck needs a new wood strip for the screws to bite into and the deck needs to be cleaned up around the mating lip so it sits down on the hull evenly and properly.

This boat originally came with an OMC Stringer drive and V8 Buick. I glassed it in, doubled the size of the original transom wood and cut it for an alpha or bravo. Bravo transom assy went with the boat.

    Thank's Guys~~~

It sounds like Rootsy did most of the real tough and dirty hull work already.

Sounds like Buddy got a great project.

    WOW !

Jamie: You sure did alot of fantastic glass & core work on this old Red Mistress project.
I never saw so much photo documntation on ANY restoration project.
It's a shame you were not able to finish that great Mistress project for your own use & enjoyment.

Buddy: you sure have one great almost NEW project boat there .

It should be very easy to finish this project now.
