Engine Hatch on the 28 ZX

How do you open the engine hatch on a 28 ZX if the electric motor fails for some reason.

I was looking at my engine room today and there is no way in to it as far I can see.

I put in an exterior sleeve over the ram and pin system that would allow you to lift the hatch about 3 inches pull the pin and open it manually. I can send details and pics in you would like.

Mine would raise up all the way without any problem. Except it was heavy. It had a slot running up the sleave 1998 28zx. Had to lift when the batterys went dead.
