    does Donzi use flotation foam in the hull?

    yes and no flotation foam was made mandatory by the USCG in the 70's for boats under 19 feet that's when the Hornet went to a 20 instead of a 19 so if you have a late 70's 16 or 18 you'll have foam if someone didn't remove it.

    Not sure where the size regulation is now

    thanks, i was just wondering, i dont remember seeing any under the ft.
    deck,,, my maritime skiff 20D is full of flotation under the floor deck, it is supposed to be unsinkable

    The 22's have foam outboard of the stringers and in front of the fuel tank between the stringers. I highly doubt there is enough to keep it afloat though

    Is your gas tank that much further forward than mine or am I looking at this wrong.

    You must be looking at it wrong Carl. Our tanks are in the same location.

    I see now that you have the entire insert out. You can't do that without the deck off.

    Yupper! Yeller and I have both opened up our under bow areas for more stowage space and even room to sleep now and then.

    I've done a couple overnighters in mine......and that was before the bow area was opened up.

    so did u put a floor in it? i stuck my head under the ft area before i put the boat away for the winter, if i remember correctly i could see stringers, wires, fuel tank,etc,,,

    We both put floors in. Yeller did his just a little different than mine. My net weight gain was around 15 pounds and if I pull the carpet I am about 30 pounds lighter than stock. I did this out of necessity since the stupid little bin didn't begin to hold the gear I need to carry on the Great Lakes.
