    imco shorty vs extension box

I know the shorty has already proved itself on a 22 classic but i was intrested in knowing if anyone has tried an extension box on their 22 classic and what performance they can produce. i would much rather spend a few grand less on a box than a full imco.

    Thanks, Tyler

One instance that I am aware of. Mr. X did an ITS and a shortie at the same time on his Ilmor boat and likes the results, but with a 710, who wouldn't?

I have been running a shorty lower for ten years. Nice thing about it is you can bolt it up, do a test, and take it off all in the same day, if you don't like what it does to the handling. There are also deals to be found on them, too. Keep your eye out on OSO.

If it were me, I wouldn't let this be a money-driven decision.

    Good luck.

I installed one but never completed it, the box was huge . I did not think the transom would handle it then took it off. Another thing is you also need hydraulic steering .
