WTB: Triumph Thruxton or Ducati Sport 1000

I'm looking to spend $4k to $5k on a used Triumph Thruxton (or Ducati Sport 1000, but I do realize I probably won't find a Duc for that price)... Anyone here have one or know of one for sale? I've found a few online, but selection is verrry limited, and honestly I'd rather buy one owned by/inspected by a board member! Shipping will most likely be a necessity.

    Excelent taste you have there.

However, even as a multi-Triumph owner I have to say the Duck is a whole lot more bike.

Of course, you can get a Thruxton up over 100 hp with a little help from these guys: http://www.triumphperformanceusa.com...ort=20a&page=1

I understand the 1087 is a real animal!

Take a look over at Triumphrat.net - they have a very active twins forum.

No argument there. One day I figure I'll have to buy a Duck if for no other reason than the sound.

I saw a Duc on the new Tron movie. It looked and sounded great.
I don't know that much about them, so I had to enlist the help of Chachi.
I liked what I saw. I found some Sports for about $7K.

OK, that fist vid is labeled as 'sbk Arrow system', but I swear that's a Leo Vince from the logos on the mufflers.

And just to keep this from being a complete Duc love fest....My Triumphs don't usually need 3 hits of the starter to get running, and the license plate doesn't flap in the breeze.

    I'm just sayin'....

That thing did sound pretty mean. Had to be more going on there than just pipes.

A bit overkill for a Multistrada I'd think, but it would sound great on a Monster or superbike.

Ah screw it - blow your rainy day fund and get a Norton.

Actually, I like the standard look better than the all black on this bike.
    Sounds pretty good too.

Not exactly the same style bike you are looking for but probable a better bike overall.

Yes, Ducati's are nice. Thats why I own one of those too. But honestly the Aprilia with its Rotax motor has way more torque down low and is way more fun to ride. The race pipes on this one sound super sweet as well.
