    22 classic drive cut out

Does anyone have the x dimension on a 98 22 classic. The transom is filled in and painted so I don't know were to get the measurements to place the mecruiser jig on. Can I just use a straight edge placed on the bottom of the boat and match it to the horizonal marks on the jig. If anyone can give some advice it would be great. Thanks Jeff

Being as it is filled consider raising it for much better performance, stock is 14-1/2 but that puts the cav plate too low. My 22 is just a tad shy of 17, it comes on plane as fast as any other and suffers no porpoising. You and I have talked enough to know you want the best performance you can get.
