That was the boating season 2010

last pic of my GT in the water, been pulled out of the water last weekend and brought to my new home (bought a new house last week)...

...miss driving it already, but the winter project is now chosen: restoring my new house and building a big garage for the GT and my vintage cars on my own beautiful property

A 1977 italian sportscar (not one of the reds, factory paint is mostly yellow ), and a 1967 Renault Alpine A110 Spyder race body, a original Kawasaki Z750 built 1976, a Yamaha DT175 Crosser, Benelli Scooter... and my 1969 Donzi GT of course. They all need a lot of space and attention

My very best friend Ed Donnelly sent it to me as a christmas gift. I really appreciated this and all the help I got from this folks during the restoration of my GT

The boat looks great!!! Somehow I missed any discussions on how it runs so far. I remember you went with a smaller motor and I'm curious how you like it?

    Thanks Parnell

first: it runs much better as expected, my best was 63 mph gps with a 23" mirage in pretty rough conditions 10 days ago. Began to chimewalk in the end, but was still under control.
second: some (minor) problems, blew oil out of the drive oil reservoir- airbubble in the drive, solved with pumping new oil in, still some air in the power steering- but got better in the end, blew some oil out of the dipstick, haven't figured out yet why this happened.

Like it with the sbc? When will you ever be satisfied...? Well, the hull is great, it is a much drier boat than the 22 with its higher freeboard, it handles great, got a lot of space inside, and makes people turn their heads. Overall it is a good compromise between fuel consumption, spare parts cost, reliability, fun and speed. Hope with some clever tuning I will get her up to solid mid to high 60s, that works fine with me. I guess I stay with the sbc, but might start to look for a stroked 383.

    Glad to hear that Axel

Too bad I love my 383 in the 16 cause its perfect for that boat 510 ponies, light and it runs so nice. 383's are very cool imho. It is a real head turner
    Good luck
