    Volvo 290 Trim question?

I have Volvo 290 drives on my Magnum. One of the drives is not staying in the tilted position. It drops very slowly. No leaks that I can see so it must be a O ring. Can I rebuild these trim cylinders? If so how big a job is this and should I have someone else do this?

    Thanks

With no visible leakage my guess would be the check valve in the pump, you can try to flush it. To try the flush trick you need to put both lines in a can filled with fluid then run the pump in both directions several times, if that does not clear it you may have to tear into it. 90+% of the time that I did tear into them there was a small fleck stuck on the seat, I have found a broken spring or two. They are not hard to take apart or get back together, order a seal kit in advance then just keep you camera at your side it will remember for you where things go.

THERE ARE NOT KITS AVAILABLE!! I have searched a bit and Big Griz has been for quite some time, new rams are out of sight price wise.

    Rams a costly crown!

A set of new rams in Sweden costs about 800 Dollars.
