    Stainless Marine or Lightning Headers?

Thinking of upgrading exhaust system. Down to these two , Any pros or cons would be appreciated. I want dry tails or a liitle water at very end of tailpipe. The water here is brakish with a little salinity

I think the SM will far outlast the lightnings.

I guess I don't understand about the "Dry tails".....
My TR came w/dry tails, but the tails are still jacketed, They need to be to keep the engine room temperature under control.
Could you expand this thought a bit?

By dry tailpipes I mean dry exhaust, but still water jacketed, the water does not mix with the exhaust until the very end of the tailpipe or not at all.

But what does that have to do w/the salinity of the water you boat in?

We ran dry tails on the lambo boat (1990s). The idea was you would spray the cooling water down
into the exhaust stream after it left the pipes. Did it quiet it ? Not Much. Looked Cool.

I'm running lightnings in fresh water. Nice headers if you can get that one bolt in.

I ran s.m. and used double walled dry pipes on my 28zx.Mixed the water at the end.No water reversion for the big cam we used.

Lightning headers are more for fresh water use. I wasnt sure how they would hold up in water with some salinity

It's really hard to beat Stainless Marine.
I'm pretty confident they would last as long as you kept the boat.
I understand they will build any type of riser and tails you want.

I like the look and sound of Lightning. That being said, SM for sure if any salt is involved. My mech worked for a while in salt and brackish water. He said they corroded pretty fast.

Also, you can go with longer risers on SM for more performance in the long run.

Fasttrucker. Just wonder how big cam you had there and if you mixed the water on the inside of the transom at the end of the collector or later??
