This is going to be a long discussion. All boats are different even the same type.

High Performance props 3, 4, and 5 blade. Turbo and Stainless Steel props. Props for old Volvo drives.

Props are a black science. Each boat is different.

A 3-blade prop is going to be your best bet most of the time. Mirage and Mirage+ props are fast props. Several people also like the Turbo props on here. I have a Turbo Lightning and it is a pretty fast prop.

I have a 3 blade Mirage on the boat now. Forgot what the diam and pitch are.
Doug Russel Marine has quoted me $16000 for a 383 Scorpion paired with a Bravo I and the transom assembly. Sounds reasonable to me for a 400 HP upgrade and a drive that won't blow up. Comments, suggestions, etc? Oh, and thats the price before I send in the old core(s).

What are your goals for the boat? You should get at least 60-65mph with the 350 sbc. Is there a problem with the 350 or do you want to go faster?

It will hit 65 with 1/2 tank of gas and just me in it. I was looking for a cheap way to go faster. The Alpha drive is keeping me from wanting to beef up the engine.

That is probably about right. I paid $10,500 for that same setup with a 383 Mag a few years ago. You can't find that deal today.

Doug Russel quoted me $16000 for a 383 Scorpion, Bravo I, and a Bravo transom mount. $13000 for the same setup with the non-stroker 383.
    So its 16 K for 400 horsepower, and 13 K for 350 HP.
