How much HP for a 1987 Z25?

I just purchased a Z25 that came without an engine. My question is what are the limitations of the hull? I was planning on building something between 450 and 600 hp. I guess what I am asking is, where will I reach diminishing returns? Once you get over 500 hp or so, the cost really starts to increase and fuel mileage and drivablilty/reliablity decreases.

Eddie Young stuck 550 hp in one of the smaller Z's and it was a real sleeper.

I did one with a borq trans and trs, 500+ hp and it runs 71 gps. I think with the right prop I could get another mph or two. That is on a 23p Mirage. It made it a fun boat to drive!
