    Gimbal housing help

My Bravo was built in '87 and is one of the first offered and uses the anodic stove (square) bolts in the two lower positions.
The bolt holes in the gimbal housing are "inside" the housing O-ring seal and will leak water if the bolts aren't sealed.
It's been too long since I've done one of these and don't remember what I did the last time.
    Any suggestions?

George, I have to do the same job next weekend and I am also afraid of doing it.
I think there is no other way: I am planning to apply a little track sikaflex around the housing before I put it on, so the bolts end up in lying inbetween the inner o-ring and the outer sikaflex ...not pretty but I guess it seals.
The bolts also need to be glued in with sika, hate doing this... but will you ever take it apart again?

I am also interested in better ideas!

Do not use silicone based sealants in contact with aluminum most all formulas cause corrosion, 4200 and 5200 do not seem to have any ill effects. After the installation of my new shield I carefully laid a small bead of 5200 around the outer edge, I did this from having seen several shields corroded along the edge in salt water usage. Four years later there is no sign of corrosion.
