    ford part number help

need to find a cross reference chart or database lookup

    to find the replacement starter

these are the numbers i found on it

near the pinion on the inner plate

    dotf 11131-a

    on the outer casing

    motor craft
    c2af 11001 ca 3k17c

from what i can see it is a 2 bolt 9 teeth starter
When the sky is grey, look out to sea.
When the waves are high and the light is dying,
well raise a glass and think of me...
    When I'm home again,
    boys, I'll be buying!

This number (C2AF-11001-C) is crossed to this starter:

I think it's just a generic photo and obviously not "marine", but it's a start. No pun intended. Google search for "ford starter c2af" seems to get some results.

Search these Lester #'s 3134, 3143, 3140, 3141, 3159, 3159A, all are marine starters for 5.0 or 5.8L Ford applications., cw or ccw rotation.

the napa part number has changed the early 289/302 motors took the short snout starter for a manual transmission
