    vibaration

I have a distinct vibration at low rpm with my M mercruiser and noticed that the prop wabbles a bit with unit in gear with muffs running out of the water. I tried two different props and they both acted the same. Could this be a bent prop shaft or carrier bearing problem? Thanks for any input, John.

Spin the prop and watch the shaft. You should be able to see if the shaft is bent by watching it.

I would think with a bent shaft, the vibration would get much worse the faster the prop spins. Your engine may me the vibrator!

Merc allows .030 out of tolerance, I have seen them with quite a whip and did not feel it in the boat!
