Yeller and Ghost, they are a very innovative firm in Italy. I am communicating with them and will let you all know what I find out but yes your sizes are about right.

Here is there catalog in pdf form. Remember though that I am famous for finding the absolute most expensive stuff out there and then not being able to use it because of the cost! I myself am very curious about the fender clips as they would be a very good smaller brother to the US made clips that gmcars10 made me aware of.

I figured I better lay out all the deck "stuff" I am thinking about so that I can keep it straight in my head and decide what may or may not work. After all, as Carbo once said, enough is never enough. I wish I had Axel's talent instead of my crayola approach LOL. Here is what I came up with so far ..........I am having a hard time figuring a good way to mount the screens so I fiddled and made a slide sleeve in the third pic. It may be a stupid approach though.

The deck may look too heavy with all the chrome on it .........had to post The Mule for perspective.

    1. (2) Gas Fills Port and Starboard
    2. (2) US made Mooring line center pop-ups 1.5" diameter
    3. (4) Italy made Fender line pop-ups 1" diameter (mounted in splashwell?)
    4. (2) OEM deck scoops
    5. (4) deck cleats

    6. Possible (8) windscreen mount points (ugh)

Now that I have laid it out, having the 1" Italian pop up fender hooks mounted on the vertical plane of the splashwell may actually work ok.

And back to the windscreens .........ran across this in pic 1 as compared to my original mock up that Axel did for me in pic 2. I think that having the radius on the actual glass at the top is better then having the curve done in the metal. I kinda like the simple 90 angles of the base frame softened by the curve of the glass.

    Question Chrome Plating $

    Greg~
Chrome plating prices today have gone through the roof.
    BUT~
That quote of $ 225. per/hinge set seems off the charts.

I would go with Cast Stainless Steel, if at all possible, because of it's high strength; and the fact that you do not need to get involved in this insane high-cost $$$ plating issue.

I know you have really been searching all the world over for good specialzed hinges for your bechseat racer project~
But I would stay away from brass & bronze.
Or at least shop around for another plating shop.
I use Frankford Plating here in Philadlphia.
Great quality, price& fast turn-around tme.
Make sure you tell them that no old plating removal is necessary on these new parts.
This saves the plater quite a bit of labor & prep time.

Brad, you are spot on. I got a second price today and it was $108 per hinge so going in the correct direction, down.

    Greg~
I have been involved in Antique & Classic Car restorations most of my life.
Since the musclecar & hotrod/streetrod craze took-off the plating prices have gone through the roof.
The platers have more work than they need or want and thus have jacked-up the prices to crazy levels.
They often use the environmental regulations an an excuse for these nutty high prices.
This is not totally true & just an excuse to rip-off the public.
Try to find an industrial production plater who will do small jobs on the side.
    Not a Hotrod/Antique car re-plating specialist shop.
You will find the prices much lower.
There are also small motorcycle speciality shops that do plating at very reasonable prices.

    Shop Around.

Thanks Carbo, I also have a few more from old posts that I plan on giving a ring. Can anyone comment on the difference in brightness and color/hue between 316 SS and polished chrome? I am a little concerned that with all the brightwork that will be on the deck the two won't really match when they are right up next to each other. Probably look identical but was just wondering.

    Hi Greg,
All our stainless steel products are made of AISI316, and for some structural parts we use Nitronic and 17-4 PH. The models SL10x ($104)and SL20x ($295) are in stainless steel AISI316

it getting there. it is back together and painted. still needs some stripes and rigging. everything takes longer than you think it will.
be carefull of fender lines going over painted corners, they will take the paint off in one outing.
