Fun look'n project. I take it, you will be fiberglassing the hull to deck joint. When you do, you will need to grind off all that white gelcoat near the top of the hull, so the glass will adhere properly. Keep up the good work.

The deck will be fastened mechanically to the hull via the rub rail approach. Here is an arial photo of the interior of the hull in final form with the tank in place.

We have all the body work done at this point including a slight pad alteration and have laid down a prime on the hull and deck.
The top of the deck, bench seating area, two rumble seats and custom cut down splash well are all going to be done in white gel. From the rub rail down however, we have decided to go with paint. The deck stripe will therefore need to be painted. We are thinking of using a relatively new product called ALEXSEAL Yacht Coatings. It is a single stage product that has been around for just over 10 years and is made by the 90 year old industrial German coatings company Mankiewicz. Not sure yet if they can get our color made and given they mostly supply mega yachts I have to wait patiently. I'm hoping that Mini Craft Florida will be willing to supply me with a color chip sample of the original Donzi factory color that was produced by Ferro Coatings. Ferro has evidently sold out of the gel coating business several years ago and all the factory record codes have been lost. Mr Carter has always had good luck with Mini Craft so I'm trying to confirm that they have the same codes in there archives as Ferro and so far it looks like they might.
Time will tell

Yay! Yellow!

I think yellow really pops against any water background and it is not very common - at least where I boat. When I bought the yellow Donzi 23' center console, I had reservations but I have grown to love the color. You have probably already run into the dilemma of what flavor yellow to make it - pale to rich yellow?

If you're going to do yellow......go all the way! The brighter, the better IMO. I like the yellow on the pick up you posted.
Why is faster never fast enough.
