Slither head first, on your back, into the ski storage area, and look at the back of the dash board. There "should" be something written on the wood, beneath the fiberglass, in black magic marker.
Also, you can look at the wood block that is behind the bow eye (hook the boat to the trailer, not the lifting eye) in the very front of the boat. Also written on the wood in black marker, and then glassed over.

Last 18 "Barrelback" was manufactured in mid 68....
they didnt make any in 69 or 70 the title says donzi on it
Any pictures available?
That would help with the identification process.
no by 69 and 70 they were making the standard 18 2+3 which is now called a classic
but it is possible that it may be registered as a 1970 as that process was very arbitrary in each state at that time. someone might have sold it in 1970 and it was titled as such when the new owner registered it.
pics of the transom, keel and rear hatch would help
also looked for a foil tag around the back seat bulkhead in the boat or in the bilge some early boats had written numbers on the stringers as well
Even from the factory they aren't always right. My hull was made in July 1972 but on the title its a 1973. It was the last of it's kind made so maybe it took that long to sell. Who knows but they didn't even make this boat in 1973.
Now that I think about it I have the first (24 race boat) and the last 19 ever made. Now that's weird.

And it has a foil on the back but its torn and you can just see the donzi part and i cant seem to find any other markings??? could someone just have put the foil on there??? where would be the best place to look the titles say L1881 what year would this be around??
well it is a honey with a blue strip but somebody painted it I believe it was red because you can see it in some places?? and it has a foam coreing in the deck?? and a 302 with a 270 volvo
Actually #81 would be mid 66ish... more or less... No?
Did you crawl under the deck and look at the back of the dash? Take a good flash light and a wet rag with you. Wipe down the back of the dash on the side opposite the helm (should be a port helm originally) so look on the starboard side. Should see something beneath the glass in black felt tip like... 18-XXX or C18-XXX or if it is less than a hundred then XX...
what is the intercepter package?? like i said it has the sticker on the back on the transom but its like flaked off but you can see the donzi part???
