Time forSweet Cheekz to find a new home
When I asked Daniel Derebery if the engine I bought was almost the same one offered here at Jeg's, he told me that mine had better internal components and more tolerance built in. He said they have to rebuild some of these World engines since they do not hold up well in the marine use. He also mentioned that the stud girdles they install really start to come into play. Thought I would pass this along. Bill

I took these pictures this afternoon of the 632CID stroker engine making 800HP that I plan to use in the Magnum. I was able to get the CMI exhaust system from Daniel Derebery and some CMI tailpipes from another friend that I do not show here. I Imroned the valve covers in the dark blue that I plan to shoot on the Magnum hull. Bill

Bill, How much reconfigurement of the engine bay will be in store with that bad boy in there?......I suspect, keel stringer would take the biggest bit.

Yep, the center keel stringer will probably be down to about 4-5" to clear the large oil pan, but I plan to install some heavy duty engine mount stringers and lay in some cross bracing members between the stringers like Cigarette does in their boats. I will also be using a racing engine mount like this one which will tie the stringers together. Bill

Bill,
Nice to see you back on the mag project. Eng looks great. If you know of any stainless marine exaust around I'm looking for 2 sets.

Thanks Bill, yes bbc, I actually found 1set so I only need 1 more. I think I need to get custom risers from Stainless Marine so I'm just looking for the manifolds.
Marshall,
I checked yesterday with Derebery and he did not have any SMs, but he did have 2 sets of IMCO Powerflows with long ss tube tailpipes that they just removed from a cat boat with 1075s being changed over to 1600HP engines. Daniel is supposed to get back with me on a price if you have any interest. Bill

Hey, thanks Bill, but I think I'm going to stick with the SM since 1set are on their way to me. I took the beast out today, its a real thrill. Real windy, 2-3 ft chop and it just ate it up. Its so solid feeling.
Sounds good - wish I got the chance to run one for a while. Today would have been great. I ended up getting the IMCO Powerflow exhaust systems today with the 85 degree risers - they included the switchable CMI Marine tips and long ss tubes as part of the deal. I will polish them up and see if I can sell them at some point - they are in great condition. Glad to hear you had a fun day boating. Bill

Hey Bill,
Sorry for the delay in responding. I left the country for 2weeks on the 10th. I'm interested in the CMI's, I just have to nail down the rest of my exuast. I'm trying to keep the same exit location on the transom as original (above the rubrail) on the starfire so its touchy to get enough drop from the top of the riser for a wet exaust. I'm pretty sure I'm going to use 4" (inside dim I think)tips but not sure what the outside dim is. If I need 4 1/2 in sted the only difficulty is I need reverse angle flange tips... If you still have the CMI's in 1 week when I get back, I'll call you.
Thanks - Marshall
Marshall,
I will probably try to sell the two BBC exhaust systems as complete sets before breaking them up into component parts. They came off a 46' Nortech with twin 1075HP engines, but the owner is changing the power to twin 1600HPs with Stellings. These are the IMCO PowerFlow Plus systems made for big power and are the polished aluminum systems. I polished up one set and they look great - . The ss tailpipes are two slightly different lengths so they come out the transom the same length since BBCs are staggered heads - they are about 4' long tailpipes. I will probably have to advertise them in Offshore Only whenever I make up my mind about what I want to do with them, but I will keep you in mind for the CMIs. In this picture, the tailpipes are not bolted to the risers and I only slipped the CMIs on to the tailpipes. Bill
