    Sea Dek

Anyone ever use Sea Dek? http://www.seadek.com/

They appear to have done a Donzi swim platform: http://www.seadekstore.com/donzi.aspx

I need to do something before someone kills themselves on the swim platform of my boat. The non skid is actually the kind I prefer because it is easy to clean. But the platform is angled back towards the water and when barefoot and wet it's a slip and slide. I'm actually more fearful of slipping off of it while it is on the trailer. It is not exactly a short drop.

    Anyway... thoughts/experiences/other ideas?

A friend on mine has a similar material on the platform of his Yamaha Jet boat and it is really nice to stand or sit on. I made the mistake of waxing mine last summer when I got the boat and know how you feel. It was treacherous for a while.

Run a life-line around the stern like a sailboat.

Which boat are you talking about, your new one?

    Neighbor Installed It !

I Know how slick these swim platforms can be~ I have a big slick platform on my American Skier Super Eagle skiboat. My Jersey "Shore" Neighbor & I installed one of these custom die cut deck mats on his big older Matercraft Maristar V-Drive ski boat's molded-in swim platforms
    Nice Installation !.
Make sure you get any old wax off of the fiberglass deck so adhesive bonds well.
we used a floor wax remover from the suprmarket followed up with a rough wrag + Scotchbrite & acetone.
Put light pencil morks to posiion mat. Remove self-adhesive backing and start from the center and work to each side.
We used a 3" square piece of hard wood and a dead-blow mallet to make sure adhesive ws well bonded.
Only issue we had was the need to make extra cut-outs for his aftermarket Widline swim ladder mounts.
This deck mat product worked-out very well.
    Great traction now!
It was worth the money & effort!
NO ~ I do not work for the company.

    The new one, 28 ZXO.

I've also thought about a 2nd lower swim platform. The integrated one is nice but much taller than it looks. It's a good few inches off the water and a bit tough to negotiate with the kids. I'm just not sure how a lower second one would look.

As far as Sea Dek goes, doesn't sound like there are any negatives? I found this link to the Donzi ZR one (it's for a 38) but I would probably do something similar but in tan to match the boat.

    Expensive !

I just found that the old 1988 Mastercraft Maristar's SeaDek swim platform custom pad cost $350 ~
    WOW !
This was because they did not have it in their digital cutter's files.
He needed to send them a self-made template so they could add it to their file library.
Most standard pads that they do have on file normally cost $225-$255.
Custom graphics & names are also available.
They claim SeaDek swim-pads will last 5-7 years~ If not let to stand outside in the sun & weather.
Despite the cost & limited lifespan it is a very nice product !
As stated above It maybe cheaper to cut-out your own pad.
SeaDek sells raw uncut 3 & 5 MM pad material for $40.-$70 .
Or you can buy other turf pad material for much less $$$.
