    Lightbulb A great deal!

If you are about to renew your anti virus there is a great deal to be had, I have been running ETrust for about 15 years and never ever got hit with a virus. I got a notice of renewal and a promo on a very complete suite, it has $5000.00 insurance against virus's and $5000.00 against identity theft. The online price is $59.95 but it can be found at Office Max and many other places with a $40 instant rebate, so you are out the door for a tad over $30 inc. the tax. Well worth checking out but shopping for!

For you cheap asses (like me) that hate paying money for software to fix Microsoft problems, try these FREE software packages with FREE upgrades and downloads through the year. I have installed and ran all 4 of them on dozens of systems over the last couple years and they all work just fine.

    Antivirus - AVG
    http://free.grisoft.com/doc/2

    Antivirus - Avast
    http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html

    Adware/Spyware - SE Adaware
    http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/

    Adware/Spyware - Spybot Search & Destroy
    http://www.safer-networking.org/en/home/index.html

NOTE: ALL of these 4 are for personal use only (not to be run in a business) or so the licensing requirments say.

NOTE #2: Symantic/Norton's super duper total condom super protection (complete internet protection or something like that) package failed bigtime this weekend to fix a computer with simple trojan dialer viruses. My customer just paid 80 bucks, downloaded/installed it and it did not even recognize the viruses. She was pissed!!! I installed AVG on her system and let it do a scan and within a couple hours, bye bye virus problems. Mcafee and Symantic are slowly going down in flames.

Note #3L if you're really a slacker and don't have any protection on your computer and want a free online scan of your system visit Trend Micro Housecall.

Yes I do housecalls, but knowing your luck, I probably don't live in your neighborhood.... Or state.

If you work for a decent sized company, you can check with the tech department of your company. Every employee of my company can download McAfee AV for free by entering a trust license number. The idea is that we're most likely doing work from their home computer (like I am now), and it's in the company's interest to ensure it's protected.
    Got Criterion?
