I'm guessing George wishes we were all there giving him a hand.

George, I'll bet that was frustrating but you have probably already figured out what went wrong. It sounds like you are 2 feet from sliding into home plate now.

I solved two issues this morning: (drum roll).................................
I finally found the dipstick I apparently lost about 6 months ago! Just sand it a bit and paint the handle!
Second and most important, I tried to use the wrong tether and clip last night. I found my other safety switch, clip and tether this morning, and I'll probably use it instead of the one I had installed.

Thanks guys for the well wishes!

I wonder if seven years of effort is now only days away from launch. "Labor" Day has a nice ring to it.

Greg, unfortunately, it won't be this weekend.
When I had the starter problem (http://www.donzi.net/forums/showthre...emoval-Problem), I removed the electrical bracket on the rear of the STBD cylinder head to check the slave solenoid,
I had to remove the oil cooler too. I drained the cooler, and the last bit of water out the drain felt a little oily. I hadn't pressure tested the cooler, and I wasn't inclined to take any chances, so I ordered a Revolution Marine 3" X 18" cooler vs. the 2-1/4" X 21"
    existing cooler.
I remounted the electrical bracket and tried to fit the new cooler to the bracket I had the old cooler mounted to. Unfortunately, the new cooler needs to move up about 3" which will require a new bracket. I ordered a piece of aluminum on eBay this afternoon. While the cooler is larger in diameter, it's also shorter. Hopefully, it'll make reassembling a bit easier.
In the pictures, you can see the original bracket and cooler from some months ago. I mounted the bracket to the top 2 gimbal studs, which I replaced w/some extra long studs for this purpose.
Next is the 2 coolers for comparison.
Then the electrical bracket installed w/o the cooler or bracket.

That's ok George. I have a feeling that the season where you do your boating lets you now target Thanksgiving. As they say, the last five is the toughest five. Heck, we even had a fourth 90 degree day today. This year the weather has stunk.

    TR splash date Over/Under pool

Let's just give George a break on the constant "when is she going to be splashed?"
Let us (me) set an arbitrary date 30 days hence to (Oct.3rd) as a means to pick
the splash date...............Take you time George!........I'll take the over!

    Things are moving ahead, slowly.
The shop is about 115* this time of the year.
    I'm sure ya'll can understand.
I just finished fabbing a new bracket for the new oil cooler, and need to paint the bracket, cooler, and starter.
    Hopefully before the weekend.

On the 115 degree thing, I was at a large wholesale Nursery last weekend and they had this thing on wheels that was about the size of a 4x8 piece of plywood. It was on wheels and they said it was amazing how it moved air and kept the temps way down. It was not AC either as they said it was pretty inexpensive to run.

You may need a Tstat with that cooler, buddy with a 540 I believe had the same cooler. Running hard he could get 200+ but at cruise it ran about 180, it was a raw cooled setup you may be ok being closed cooled.
