Steve, thanks for the kind words.
I thought about you earlier today when I opened an email for a cruise to Bermuda.
It's not likely now, but that's something i'd like to do.
I suppose we could meet up and I could have the pleasure of buying you a drink or something.

George , at certain times of the year one or two of the cruise lines start (or end ?) their season with cruises to here from Port Everglades . That wouldn't be too inconvenient for you !
One thing's for sure though , when this project is finished you're going to deserve a big personal reward and if you just think of all the $$ you saved doing it yourself you'll be able to justify anything ! ANYTHING ! muawhahaha
Just because something's old doesn't mean you throw it away !

Today would have been the day we started the engine.
Dave Triplett, the engine builder wanted to be there to break in the cam.
I can't take the boat to him since it's still on dollies, and the trailer isn't even started yet. Dave can't come to my shop until he closes his own business, so we got a relatively late start at 7:00.
I attempted to have everything ready, for instance, I hooked up water to the transom for the first time. The relief valve momentarily stuck closed and finally broke loose after pegging the pressure gauge on the dash. I reset the relief valve for about 20 PSI, tightened the capillary connection that was dripping under the dash, and everything was good.
Elaine was ready to shoot a video of the big moment.
Dave primed the lube system, reinstalled the distributer, and we tried to start it, but no success. I made sure it was in neutral, but still no success. Next I realized I hadn't attached the lanyard, but that didn't work either.
Well, we didn't get it started, and now I have a chance to find the electrical glitch and fix it.
It'll probably be another week before Dave can make it back out, but there's plenty of other things to do.
