    how to record a vcr tape to a dvd

    ok guys, it wouldnt be the first time someone thought i really was stupid, and i can live with that if someone can help/
    i have a sony PCV-RZ50CG(UC) "media" computer, set up from the factory for all sorts of media, from cameras, to recording tv.
    i'll be damned if i can figure out Giga Pocket.
    i'm trying to copy vcr tapes to the hard drive, then copy them to dvd's
    anybody got any ideas????

    Generally speaking, there should be an audio and video inputs to the capture card. Once connected you can open your "Giga Pocket" software to record to the HD. After that you will need DVD authoring software to create a DVD if Giga Pocket does not. I use several and have yet to choose a favorite. Try Nero, DVD decryter, dvd shrink to start with. If you want to blow some money there are some serious authoring tools out there.

    thanks wes, its a long story, but i got it, your "big picture" approach was right on the mark. the tedious little things are what was kicking my butt, but finally got it, thanks
