I NEED SOME HELP AND ADVICE. I AM LOOKING AT AN 82 18FOOTER WITH 350/260. VERY NICE BOAT BUT IT HAS THE R DRIVE. THE PRICE IS 7000 SO IT AINT CHEAP. PLEASE TELL ME THE PROS AND CONS OF THIS DRIVE.

I wouldn't try to put any more power to the R drive than what's stock. So if you plan on any engine upgrades you better plan on upgrading the drive as well. An Alpha will bolt up to your gimball assembly. I've had good experience with those drives being reliable w/ stock power. See outdrives.com.
