Help!

Now that I have received a nice OEM Teleflex fuel gauge from GEOO and from Kim, my mechanic tells me that he will have to drill a hole in the tank to install the sending unit and also wants to cut a hole in the deck under the dash neither of which I am willing to do. Does anybody have a better suggestion for adding an electric gauge to a boat that just has the site glass over the mechanical gauge?

EMMO, I know you don't want to hear it, and it's the obvious but split the deck. Just kidding but probably the only way without making a hole. I split my Hornet apart to replace the original fuel tank, and still added a small access hole with cover just over the sending unit to allow access to connections and to the sending unit. I used an aircraft style unit with hi-lo adjustments and wanted to be able to get at it. Also you can always cut a hole and then repair the hole?????? Then again maybe there are other options??? I'm not very smart.

Emmo, my 16 has screw out deck plate on the cockpit floor right by the driver's seat that gives you access to the fuel shut off valve and the sending unit.

Are you saying your current tank does not already have a sending unit for a remote gauge?

EMMO HOW WILL YOU DRILL A HOLE IN THE TANK AND NOT GET METAL IN THE TANK? I WAS TALKING TO SCOTT PEARSON ON THE PHONE YESTERDAY AND HE HAS SOME KIND OF SENDING UNIT THAT IS A COMBINATION ELECTRIC AND SIGHT I THINK IT WOULD BOLT RIGHT IN WITH NO MESS NO FUSS YOU MIGHT CONTACT HIM
