That?s one of the nicest Ls conversions I?ve seen , and this is the first one I?ve seen in a classic. How does she run ?
Many times it?s the shift cable boot. Also check the wiring in the bilge close to the pump. Could be corrosion.
Good luck with the sale. The drive and engine are worth more than the asking price !
You could go the pricey route and put an imco -2 on it 😀
I think pro line years. They had a little 120 sport jet which was really a force outboard power head. Pretty popular in the 90s and early 2000s.
I had the same problem with my carbed engine. It wasn?t until I got the Afr dialed in that it went away. Make sure your timing and advance is dialed in first.
The speed is coming from a low slip percentage. That comes from the elevated x , the set back , And the - 2 lower.
Definitely a great number for the horsepower. It looks as they raised the engine between 1 and 2 inches to account for the setback. Probably .. on any account , it certainly made a big difference !
The xp is now offered in 15 inch diameter vs 14.63. Just because a prop has had the blades thinned doesn?t mean it has less blade surface area. Just an fyi. I would run one if they came in a 30 pitch.
You will have to disconnect the fuel fill and vent. The wiring from under the dash. The shifter cables. There are several threads. A big job but not impossible if you take your time.
It?s really hard to beat a Rev4 on our hulls. I wish there was a 30p !
The only breakaway feature would be the coupler. Usually there is a burning rubber smell but not always . I would take her out on a calm day and slowly bring it up on to plane and keep an eye on your...
You are lucky to have found a gear set !
The nice thing with the flag pole is being able to pop the struts off the hatch and lean the hatch back on the pole. Way better access !
I removed the rear lift ring and installed a flush mount holder
Yeah 1.5 ratio. I think around 15 percent slip. I think I could turn a 28 max5 as you have about 40 horsepower on me. I do worry about the drive and 5 blades .. I will say the Bravo planed out nice...
Good stuff Carl. Bring her to the awakening !
I have been running a Cutting Edge 30 pitch lab finished 4 blade at around 80 or so mph. Huge slip numbers as that was at approx 5600 rpm. So I ran a box stock bravo 1 today. 5300 rpm a little over...
Your tach is probably off. I wouldn?t worry about getting a new prop.
What rpm?s are you running now ? On a smaller boat with lower power the shorty isn?t going to allow you to trim like a standard lower. You can get a new hub for the 1.25 propshaft. If it?s pressed in...
Ohh these sold. Sorry
Thx for the heads up Ted !
Yes , they would. Or in my case , get the carb fine tuned.
Innovate makes a shield/ extension that screws into the bung. It protects the sensor. I am running one. Slick piece. https://www.amazon.com/Innovate-Motorsports-Heat-Sink-Extender-Racing/dp/B07DM69MP4
