I have a 350W in my X-18, and the exhaust manifolds have been a difficult part to source. Something to consider.

Stepped hull ... very cool!
Spun prop?
Not a float switch. I have one in my boat. Doesn’t work that well. Oil in the bilge may be an issue, perhaps by design for environmental reasons. Either way, I am not impressed. I usually have...
I would use a MityVac to test the line for leaks before pulling the gauge. Lauderdale Instruments repairs the VDO blue line, but I have no experience working with them. They might have some...
I have their dry exhaust with a Gaffrig baffle insert and Drew Marine Shotgun tips. Nice parts and no problems. A bit on the loud side. The wet exhaust would be more practical.

Frightening windshield added, but otherwise interesting
But the parts came drop shipped from China.
One side looks OK, but the other is way off.
I went to work on the part with a die grinder and probably scrapped it because I had to grind so far into...
I hate to have to make a post like this, but I purchased a set of Hi-Tek manifolds for my 18 with a 351W. The parts came from China and look very nice cosmetically, but the bolt holes do not line...
PS - I really like those cross braces across the top of the tank. That is going to be a very strong and stiff assembly when done.
It looks like my tank extends all the way back to the bench seat, so I guess the fore/aft balance should not be affected too much. It is a lot of gas to carry, and I do notice that the bow rides...
I have our late Harbormaster's old boat. It was modified by Donzi to carry an outboard on the transom, and Scott converted it back to a Bravo outdrive with a raised X dimension. I am running a...
Still interested if there is one out there.
Friends and family can't take breeze.
I run a Stainless Marine dry exhaust with GGB inserts and Shotgun tips on my 22 with a 464. The GGB inserts went in last year, and the boat is pretty quiet at low to mid RPMs. May be loud at WOT,...
It was in a discussion several years ago. They are in South Carolina. Website looks impressive.
I have thought about putting a windshield on my 22, but I don't like the newer style without the...
Don't see how you can move the tank up and forward without a significant ride / handling impact. Could be dangerous. Fuel is 6 pounds per gallon. My 22C has a big tank that extends forward (it...
I will contact HiTek and look into Barr.
Very much appreciate the advice and research.

I have an X-18 with a 351 H/M Volvo 280 package.
The motor failed, and I built up a new 351W unit.
However, I can't get the Redline exhaust manifolds I have to seal properly at the riser gasket.
I...
Sorry for not replying sooner.
I got very busy with this and other projects (head gasket in the car, among others) and a trip and I forgot to thank you for your advice.
Running out of time,...
Hi Guys -
I have a 1984 22 Classic. Scot's old boat.
I have been trying to update the seats with a new interior from Donzi Direct.
However, I can't figure out how to mount the front seats.
The...
Beautiful boat. Surprised that somebody did not jump on it much earlier.
I have an X-18 with a Holman Moody Windsor 350 and a Volvo 280. It runs a tick over 60 with one person on board. If the E lower is really worth 10 MPH, then you would be looking at 70. That...
I think it is too good to be true.
Location that time was SilverLake, Los Angeles.
Just wanted to thank everyone for their advice regarding the appropriate prop on my boat. I installed a Revolution 4 21 pitch this year, and the cavitation is almost all gone. Boat runs 65 on GPS...
Matty -
Thanks for the prompt reply.
Unfortunately the gas tank fills up the floor locker on my boat.
I don't see any way to access the underside of the pedestal.
This will be interesting.
