Great, thanks very much!
Dave
I'd like to purchase a set of decals too for a 1976 18, how do we contact Richard Weaver?
Thanks!
Dave
Does Rich Phlamer (sp) still sell the hardware? He used to sell exact repro's made with chrome with over brass. They're really nice pieces.
What do you make of the prop selection - 14 5/8" X 25" 3 blade. Seems to me the 500EFI can turn a bigger prop then that. Wonder if they were bouncing off the rev limiter.
- Just a thought

Hi Chris,
The boat looks unreal! I wanted to ask about the PPG Delta product you used in the bilge. I'm recoating my bilge with tinted epoxy resin and although the epoxy is tough as nails, I'm not...
And yes, they are normally aspirated small blocks, 358 cu. in. limit. And everyone is correct, they cost large amounts of $$$cash$$$.
Even though the NASCAR rule book seems to change on a weekly basis, I think there are a few common denominators that prevail: High compresion, I believe there're up around 12:1 compresion these days...
Barry,
Thanks for the ride up at Lake George, it was good for the sole. I still can't believe that engine is a two barrel...it's the fastest two barrel I've seen, land or sea.
Dave
Thanks for the info!
Dave
Thanks KMLFAMILY, I bought the TRS manual off ebay, should definitely come in handy.
Rodger - This winter I'm going to go for it and sepaprate the gimbal. If it breaks, I'll get what ever I need...
Thanks KMLFAMILY and Rodger,
I checked out the BAMS site, I never looked under the knowledege base before. I love reading that there are fixes in place for known problems. I wish I had a 550 HP...
That was a very informative post. Makes you wonder sometimes.
Think about how much money changes hands fixing/replacing blown drives. If they sold drives that never broke, they'd have no earnings...
Boat should be an animal. What kind of lift and duration figures on the cam?
Thanks,
Dave
I also own a 1976 18' 280-TRS. The 280 was a 1.5 to 1 ratio where as the 255 TRS was a 1.33 to 1. I have the two scoops for the risers on the hatch but none for the flame arrestor although it was...
Chris,
Have you looked into Latham Steering at all? I'm thinking of going straight to external steering instead of heading there in incremental steps...in 2008 of course.
Dave
Chris,
Greg,
Looks like you did a terrific job. How many times did you check your measurements before you actually went at it with the hole-saw? That's some heavy pressure!!
Dave
Nice job Chris! How much more power on the dyno did the 750 make? I bought a 600DP for my 383 and I'm thinking it may not be enough. Also, what is the adv/.050 duration figures on the cam you're...
WOW!
Scot, I didn't have my cookies enabled on my browser. I usually surf with them disabled. I use Netscape 4.7 for reference. Sorry about that.
I am testing a post with someones account

Kent,
Is that Imron paint a High-Temperature product? I'll be using it over AWL Grip-545 primer. It's also nice to see that the Stainless Marine exhaust manifolds clear the tall valve covers. Are...
Kent,
What type of paint did you use on the engine? Did you prime it first with some type of primer? It looks great!!
Thanks,
Dave
GEOO,
Could you post the ISBN number of your new book on Hi-Po small block marine engines, I'd like to pick up a copy.
Thanks,
Dave
