I’m 6’4” 250#. I replaced with Garelicks several years ago. They don’t move, wobble, or shimmy around like the stock units did. I don’t have time to worry about exploding seats..

Wouldn't do it. If you must, look at the OSO swap shop or Wilson Marine.
Try to go XR shaft. There are a few guys in the community who are IMCO dealers too. You get what you pay for, always.
John, a couple of scattered thoughts..
I was able to run 80 on demand with a 500EFI and shortie. The 500 was rated at 470 HP.
My prop recommendations were based on what you are achieving now...
John, I have been running this set-up in various forms for a long time.
I have taken the liberty of revising your target list, based on my testing.
You should be shooting for 9-10 percent slip. And...
Still got em. One day they will be returned to their proper home.
If someone would like to give me what I have invested in The Flowerpot, please reach out via PM like right now... Heck, I'll even produce receipts.
BH is 65G. Stock 22 is 55G.
This isn't a Blackhawk.
Watched both videos with interest. Looks like a great first run. Congrats.
I would truly enjoy seeing some side shot video, once you decide to air it out.
Good luck!
Guess, it beats the alternative. Thanks guys!
Cool to see some traffic and interest in AOTH again.
As for the insurance sub-thread, we had several Canadians show up at AOTH when I was involved with the MWDC, and their insurance checked out. ...
I'll never forget seeing a boat lose their throttle control and end up almost taking out five other boats at one of the AOTH "organized" runs. That is when the MWDC started taking out an umbrella...
This was one of the Nelems boats. It wasn't real teak, but synthetic. I have the same material on my Formua, and it requires very little care. Not sure anything wood-like, real or otherwise,...
Sorry to see this...
I met up with Ralph a few times, when he was just starting to get into performance boats. One thing that I took away from these meets, was his enthusiasm and all-in attitude...
You won't see the long tabs on the typical, Classic Cig.
The Extension box Blackhawk boats do better with the longer tabs due to the surface drive handling characteristics. The tabs give more...
Sorry about that. Reality, an 18 isn't going to be as efficient as a 22 in the same conditions, because it will be in the water less, so back to my freeboard and length jet-ski argument. Again, not...

Thanks, that's all interesting info, though it still leaves me sorta lost on the answers to my two questions Above. Been a long day on rough water but I think I can explain my...
Well, let's see here, I'll restate that I have been in all three, and this is my opinion, based on my personal experiences.
But beyond this...
To the 20. I have spent a lot of time talking...
and this thread is already full of opinions...
The 22 outrides, is more efficient, and easier to run than the other two by far.
The 18 is a small boat with small boat characteristics. Think...
No way to really solve for this completely.
We have been putting a wet, detail towel on the bowstop of our trailers at
de-launch for years. Problem solved for the most part.
I know the boat.
Put the engine set-up aside for a moment, the BHLE was designed for the Blackhawk drive. I've driven this hull with a standard Bravo and the handling was abysmal.
I am...
Looked at the ad, and it's a Blackhawk boat. Clue is the exhaust flange cut-outs.
A little confused by the struts on the drive to the transom...
It isn't. I've driven both. Think pogo stick driving a Bravo should be Blackhawk.
Might have to show up again next year. Been awhile. Thanks for sharing.
Pretty boat. Noticed the number. I share the same area code. Where is it located?
