How long do they have to be to be keepers? We once hired a fishing guide at Martha's Vineyard and I had to let go what would be a huge fresh water striped bass due to it being an inch too short.
I've never tried that combination, but I presume it is tasty.
My wife and I went out yesterday and I caught this slightly larger 14 pound striped bass which fought all the way. It took close to 10...
I agree about them being a good eating fish. I personally put them just slightly lower on the fish tastometer than a Walleye, but very close.

I caught this 12lb+ striped bass this past Sunday on my 1988 23' Donzi center console fishing boat, but she was full of eggs so I let it go. Fun day!
