I've owned a 18 foot v-drive for 25 years. At wide open throttle in glassy water it does run nose down. The more chop you have the less problem it is. You will never need trim tabs at wot. But at...

I'd like to see a pics of the v8-60.
Scott, if that's the boat that was originally from Tennessee a friend of mine used to service it every spring. It was bought new in Chattanooga, TN. I think it was a 1969 model with the Holman...
If these manifolds are still for sale call me at 865-376-4511. Thanks, Richy
roadtrip se, Do you have a trip planned to Chattanooga? I'm not far from there.
I don't talk on here very much, and I'm not wanting to get off topic, but I do have a question I've always wanted to ask and this seems to be a good time. Do any of you guys know of any Donzi that...
The stroke on your engine is 3.76. He's looking for a destroked 3.50 to put in a 454 block trying to get a short stroke big bore combo. The class rules wont allow but 410 cubic inch. Keep your eyes...
I have a friend looking for a destroked crank for a BBC. The stroke needs to be around 3.50. He needs this to be legal in a certain race class. If anybody knows where he might find one let me know....
I'm looking for any performance parts for a slant 6, distributor, cam, manifolds, etc. Thanks, Richy. 865-376-4511.
Jameseaves, I will explain some things about your transmission but I type to slow. PM me a phone number and I'll give you a call. Richy.
It had a Borg Warner Velvet Drive. Leave that turbo 400 in it, they work great in a boat like yours.
JimG, my serial number is C18V-357. Was it 2 boats from yours? Mine is a 1970 and the tank is still original, and it is foamed in.
George, the other v-drive boat that you were thinking of with a turbo 400 is under the thread REAREST DONZI MADE post numbers #276 and #281. Richy.
My v-drive has 12 degree gears with a 9 degree shaft angle. If you have the original strut like mine it will have the word DONZI with a 9 embossed on it. Any less angle than this would probably be...
Hey rocky1, do you know where those weber carbs are? I would like to buy another set for a project of mine. Thanks, Richy.
I probably don't have any good
photo's but could make them if you need a look. I'll try to explain what it looks like. The original bell housing had feet that stood on pieces of angle iron that...
Scott, thanks for posting the other photo's. And thanks to all for the nice comments. The transmission is a turbo 400. The bellhousing was machined off, a adapter plate made to mate the case up to...
I have been hesitant for years to post photo's of my boat because there seems to be so many people who are negative about v-drives. But for those who might be interested, here's my 1970. Serial...
Instead of wondering how many were built, I'm interested in knowing how many 18 foot v-drives with the original 427 side oilers are left? Do any of you guys know of one that still has its original...
I agree that with all the options that we have today a v-drive in a 24 degree bottom boat is not the hot ticket. I think what you forgot is that 40 years ago for the man that wanted a side oiler 427,...
Flatracer, I would like to ask you a few questions about the fuel injection on the Flatbottom. For some reason the board won't let me pm you so can you call me at 865-376-4511 before 11:00 est....
I don't know how long your rub rails are, I can do about 16-18 feet. Car frames is about the largest thing that I do but in the larger cities you can find powdercoat ovens 20-30 feet long.
It would be best if the rub rail could be bent before its coated. We do hand rails that go around pontoon boats and they are bent after being powdercoated. It's not the best way to do it, but the...
I own a powdercoat shop in Kingston, Tennessee. My oven is 18 feet long, and we do powdercoating for several of the new boat companys here in east Tennessee, if I can be of any help to anybody call...
In the 1969 price sheet the 300 horse engine was a 427 FORD. Lee Holman told me that all of there 427's started life as a 300 horse. If you ordered a 400 horse it was converted. This consisted of...
