I am with you on the red can be orange. I wanted the same thing on my drag hydro. I ended up going with a 09 viper red. It is damn bright, and not an orange tint.
Go to the engine pictures thread....
How much camshaft can a guy get away with before reversion/ water becomes an issue?
Do the aftermarket manifolds help/ prevent this? Or do I need to buck up and buy some CMI pieces? (which I am not...
How about this one? Not in my Donzi, but in my hydro.

I have a complete engine machine shop. I need a few parts. Oil cooler, floor pan, exhaust, gauges, or whatever. I am a trade sort of guy if anyone can help out.
I am in the St. Louis, MO area....
I am still looking for the front floor pan for my 18' piece. The part you rest your feet on under the dash. Mine has been cut. A PITA to make a one off mold. I'd rather buy one that is great/ good/...
How well do these manifolds flow? I am trying to figure out what to put on my 68 18' v-drive. Building a 383 also.
What do they weigh? I am also putting it on a diet. LOL
I like the true header...
Yea, we want pictures.
68 18' v-drive guy here.

WOW! When I saw the "what's it worth" and then the 25K I thought this guy must be drunk. Then I read the thread and looked at all the pics. Simply awesome. A work of art. Beatiful!
Good luck with...
You don't have depth issues, do you... depth of the pan? Many drag pans have higher capacities. Stefs rocks. If v-drive, your choices are much more limited in small blocks.

It looks like you guys are moving a bulkhead back to install the bigger tank. How much?
Remember I have a v-drive right there.
Thanks

Hmm. Interesting.
I suspect if welds are cracking, they are poor quality. At any rate, alum. it is.
What is the capacity of the stock tank?? I'm a river boat guy. The stock tank lasts me all day...
Oh, yes. I will have a tank made. A buddy of mine works with stainless all day long. Should be able to whip out something pretty.
The v-drive mounting area is soft. Maybe it will not be to bad and...
OK, I'm going to tackle it. I figure 2 years. LOL
I know the deck needs to come off. I remove the rub rails, then ??
Stringers. If in good shape I won't touch 'em. I assume I will be doing...
No one has one of these laying around? If I make one, I might as well make a few. That is last ditch effort, though.

What or did you decide on for replacement coring material. I am right there also.
Wags
IF it is solid and especially IF it has a casale split case v-drive you can't go wrong.
Other v-drives are getting harder to find parts for (but they are still out there)
The split case is almost...
Or whatever you call it. The place where your feet go in front of the driver and passenger seat. Mine was cut apart. I will remake it if I have to, but I'd rather just buy one.
Thanks

V-drives can handle tons of power. Much more than you would want to put in an old piece. They sound cool too.
Mine doesn't turn worth a damn. I do love how she cruises, though. IMO the 30 to 35 mph...
Run it.

BTW, you can run a fel pro double thickness valve cover gasket if you need more clearance. FP1604 (SBC) or FP1630(BBC). They are 2 layers of cork with a steel core. Very sturdy...
Well, I just bought an interim pleasure boat, so the 68 i getting ripped apart soon. Deck recore, stringers?, lighten her up, and might as well do the bottom while I'm at it.
I need an alum...
I guess the "making of the pad" would not be horrible. The shape and size, design etc is way beyond me.
Oh, and I like drinking in my boat. If I want to go fast I jump in the hydro. I am just for a...
What material was that originally?
Thanks
Wags
I spoke with Plascore (SP) about some of their plastic honeycomb material. They sent me 2 1' square pieces 3/8" thick. It is what I would consider very stiff. I may try it. I am also looking at some...
The pad is way out of my realm of knowledge. It is also much more work than I'd be interested in doing for a pleasure boat. Strakes, while not simple would not be bad to do. A pad would SUCK to do I...
