Sterling.. Great stuff, big yachts and racing sailboats use it for topsides..

Cheers!
I have not been around in a while.. ( ahem.. out USING my Donzi, instead of talking about it!)
I DIG the structural integrity built into the deck on the recent rebuild of my 16 foot V-drive.
...
I am not sure if you have any interest.. But.. I am looking to do the same sort of deal on my slow boat (11 hp and lots of Dacron)..
Any interest in selling the package and any leftovers you have...
What Bill said goes x 1000 for me..!!
My 1967 V-drive was under a grand.....
It ended like this:

Not sure what color or pattern you are looking for, but I do have one brand new red chunk of carpet for the under the bow ski holder area- Starboard steering setup.
Biltrite did a great job on my...
Me Likeee Alot!!
Question on process..
Do those stands actually have jacks to lift the hull off the trailer???
If not, how do you accomplish that gracefully?
Damn! I wish I had those for my...
I would have to go back and look, which is a P.I.T.A. as the bell housing is behind the back seat and deep in the hull, but I remember 225 in the number, not the C.I. (ie. 289 or 302)...
... Interesting!!! Thanks for the info Jay!
I wish the restoration only cost that much!
.... So how does all that figure in to my 1967 V-drive, all Holman Moody with original tags and hardware, now lovingly restored..??? I doubt it was a retrofit, figuring the in the extra hassle for...
Hi Glen,
Welcome to restoration madness..
My 302 is a Holman Moody, and it's marine package as the alternator bracket built into the timing chain cover.
Photos ( not great detail) are here: ...
ouch!!!
Oh the memories!!!!!!
I am glad that my hull was not the only one with crappy glass work. You certainly can tell that these boats were popped out in a hurry. Not so beautiful..
But the good...
+1!
Sweet PAIR of Donzis!!
Yep!! Been there done that!!!
Mine came loose with Kroil, and heat..... Threads ended up being just fine afterwards, then I just cleaned them up and had them re-chromed.
Screw extractors are...
Holy Crap!
That thing looks like a Killer!!
What was it on?
Looks like steel as well. Correct??
I do have some interest in trying that thing out.. I will be in touch!
Thanks!
GG
Crazily enough, I was out there that same day, speed testing the prop on the 16.. Saw the police many times, and was doing some serious full throttle bonzai runs from the seward park ramp. I guess...
Hmmmmn.. Interesting.. the 13 x 13 might be an interesting option.. I already know that a 12 x12 would not hold the horsepower, as my 12 x 14 was already slipping like crazy...
I will be in touch...
Actually, the cavitation was with the original 3 blade, very vanilla prop. The new one with the winglets is unbelievably grabby.. the boat Leaps out of the water, and does not cavitate hardly at all...
Hey Farmer!
I would love to see what you might have up your sleeve... Are your props left handed and 1" bore??
Thanks!
GG
It is a 12x 14L at this point, on a 1" shaft... with the 'winglets' and a wicked cup in it.
I just sent it back to have some more pitch put in, and to make it a bit more 'aggressive'.. We'll see......
I know.. Strange, but if aeration is what gave me nearly 10 mph on the top end, I will take it!
Think Voritices off of the ends of the blades..
Sorta like how all jets now have winglets.... All I...
New prop for the little V-drive just came in, and other than running out of gas due to too many high speed runs, the reviews are good!!
Incredible holeshot, like the boat leaps out of the water,...
I would have loved to use the sawhorse method, but as you can see in the early photos of lifting the thing, it had NO shape or strength, so it was impossible to figure out the proper shape.
I...
