Mike O,
????????????????????????????????????

Thanks! I've started looking around some of these forums, but the plain fact of the matter is that there aren't that many Sport 1000 or Thruxtons for sale... I guess it's a very specific market. I'm just going to try to be patient. This is my first bike! It will mainly be used for evening and weekend rides along the river here in Knoxville.
George - I saw that movie in IMAX... was waaaayyy better than I thought it would be! Can you believe it actually had a plot?? :bonk:
Thanks badbird, I started browsing there last night. Hopefully I can find something soon.
Wow  That's scary... I hope it didn't damage your garage or house...
Mike, what brand?
Ken
You are correct on the pipes being Leo,I could find a 1100 with the arrow system.Mine fires right up :)
Don't get me wrong I love all bikes, the new Norton is sweet  I used to have 1970 Commando from there i went to Ducati ,a monster 900 and then the Multi. Its great all round bike!

The Streetfighter is a pretty bad machine, no doubt. I'd love to play with one for a day or a week, but I doubt I'd buy it. I think it might actually be a bit to much of a sportbike for my day to day riding.
Back to the original post, if you can't find a Thruxton in the price range you're looking for, you could consider a regular Bonneville then just cafe' it as you want. Solo seat, gold valves for the front, pipes, lower bars or clip-ons, cams and/or big-bore kit.
The standard Bonnie is a nice enough bike - nothing wrong with it. But it's not a thriller in any way. They are pretty easy to find in your price range though, and then you could mod to taste as funds permit.
D#mn Mike - that's a tough break! How much did you lose in the fire?
Battery charger huh? Wouldn't have expected that. I wonder what brand mine is...:boggled: Luckily, the only one I leave running on a regular basis is the battery tender. Haven't heard of one of those burning down a garage. Yet.
Mike, tough break but thank God the garage didn't go up.
I will keep a lookout for another Buell for ya.

Saved the garage....:crossfing: Rolled the bike out side, Just before the plastic gas tank melted. Looking for an X1, exactly like this one. Want to go for a ride.... EAST...:kingme:http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2000-...item35af3a311c
