The Suwannee River is full of them. You see them jumping straight up all summer long. A couple people I know have had them land in the boat with bodily injury to the people in the boat.
On the other hand, my cousin caught a ten footer in the Columbia River in Oregon.
You're right Cuda. When I first saw them jumping, I thought they had to be tarpon; that's the only Florida fish I knew of that fit the size and jumping behavior. It was Jody who set me straight...very impressive fish.
