Mine quit working due to a broken wire under the dash.
Small gauge, maybe 20 or 22

In my case that is what went. I took it out. Was actually glad it went, because I always hated the auto retract.
Guess what? A little tiny wire under the dash broke where it goes into an inline fuse holder! Good call.Quote:

I wouldn't mind putting a switch on the auto retract to enable/disable it. When I'm out boating all day I kinda want it off but at the end of the day it's nice.
