Looks good Ed. No one is going to look down their nose. There will always be someone with a bigger, badder engine! Even badder than Mr. X's! 8318's blown 540 is looking sweet but it's in a Sutphen.....:nilly:

Here is my 572 going in my yellow Hornet, if I ever get it finished.

Original 454 with original 150hrs its dirty and barely rusted on the external but the internals are as good as almost new. Not the prettiest engine here but ohh well.

I am guessing you are in Covington Washington? Nice hanger and airplane.
I am in Gig Harbor. Not a lot of Donzis in our neck of the woods but my first ride was my girlfriend's baby 16...Mercury outboard. She kept it in Cozy Cove on Lake Washington at her aunt's (my mom's best friend) house. Not all that fast but loads of fun. I am now in the process of getting my engine ready for re-installation after #1 son had trailer issues and totaled boat. Long story but Dealer I bought boat from (for display at Seattle Boat show in 1996) borrowed my 1995 18C, then instead of returning to my home took it up to dealership in Kirkland and left it outside during cold hard freeze. Cracked both exhaust manifolds, which they replaced with cheap aftermarket Aqua Power manifolds, and unbeknownst to me also cracked block. That crack was undiscovered until this past summer when engine came out of boat to replace transom assbly and outdrive with a Bravo. Engine built by Chuck DeBois in Totem Lake at C&D Engine Performance.........383 Stroker plus other goodies. Engine goes into paint shop later this month, then pics to post.
Denis,
Yes Covington Wa...we are practically neighbors. Sorry to hear about neglected and damaged classic parts, but it sounds like the new engine will be sweet. I'm thinking a local Donzi event sometime in the near future?

Pic of Brody's 540s
Here's a pic of mine. Takes a while to spool up, but hits pretty hard once it does.
Yeller, you should upgrade that to twin engines...like me !
