1968 Donzi Ski Sporter

1968 Classic Donzi Ski Sporter. Holman Moody 302 Ford. Volvo Penta AQ270 outdrive. Heads rebuilt, outdrive resealed, intermediate bearing replaced, interior and carpet replaced 2013. Dash rebuild with new Stewart Warner retro gauges. New Mallory electronic distributor, Holley marine carburetor and Edelbrock intake manifold. Water pump rebuilt. Spare new alternator and new water pump included. Bimini included. Solas 19, Solas 23 (installed) -and Bronson Hill 19 stainless props. New lifejackets and Icom IC-M92D VHF Marine Radio included. Deck and hull are not perfect, but original and really nice considering the age. Some delam on the bow and bubbling on the hatch. Stringers and transom are solid. Boat was stored indoors for 12 years before I purchased it. Currently stored in heated garage. Trailer bearings and seals replaced 2013. Located in Seaside Oregon. $10,000 or make offer.

5000, but I do not believe the ratio is 1.61 on the lower. I think it is closer to 1.8 or 2. I'm running 48 mph @ 4800-5000. I was told it was a V8 outdrive when I got it, but the numbers weren't adding up. I changed props to gain some speed. Then I put an RPM gauge on the prop at idle and found out it wasn't a V8 outdrive.

Thanks Bert for posting that picture. I did not realize that Mini Craft did those lifelike gel coat samples. I have a chip coming to me from them next week and will compare it to what you posted and the yellow color on SanDogs 1968 boat. Interesting .......... :yes:

SanDog, any chance that you have a location on your boat that was out of the weather for the last 47 years and shows the yellow?

Boat is still for sale, price reduced to$8700 OBO. Outdrive lower was changed to correct 1.61:1 ratio this summer.

Did you have to change prop with outdrive swap? ....and to what size?
How about your top speed now?

I haven't had a chance to try all my props and do speed tests. Only got the boat out once for a quick test run this summer ( hence the reason for selling). I did notice that my rpms dropped by 1000 at top end. I hope to get it back in the water before summer ends and check all three props.

Still available. There does not appear to be much interest up here on the coast of the great northwest. Would really like to move this out of the garage this winter. Will consider delivery if that is a deal maker.

12. Outdrive cable replaced Nov 2012
13. Exhaust wet hose and stainless clamps replaced Dec 2012
14. Trailer rollers were replaced Oct 2013
15. Water pump was rebuild Mar 2013 and I have a brand new spare (these are impossible to find)
16. Dash was completely restored and rewired with new Stewart Warner vintage gauges.
17. Clear title and registered to 2016 in Oregon

I can deliver the boat cheaper than you can have it shipped.

Patrick , due to the fact that there is so much De- lamination on the deck / hatch ( bubbles ) overall which in my opinion will require a total re-do ( deck ) to make it right , and the million Dollar Question is ....................just how much are you willing to take for the boat considering there is so much ( work ) to do to make it right , and not to mention that if the repairs are not addressed the areas of concern will only get worse , and with that being said ...........let me know just what your bottom line is on the price for starters ......................
