Clayman, you can't. It is only open to boat manufactures and race teams sponsored by Mercury.

What's the story on lake X?
I've heard 'bout it over the last 30 years.
Mercury owns the whole lake?
Near Orlando? How Big?

There is a great coffee table type book on the Merc Corp that spells out the whole secret story, really was a big secret site in the days. I can pass on publisher info if you want.

The book "Iron Fist" by Jeff Rodengren is great on the Lake X story. I believe that there is a chapter on that one alone. Kiekhaefer flew over the area and after they purchased the land, they moved in with Cats and did alot of dirt work and fencing. It was of course secret as they were looking for the year round secret testing facility. Operation Atlas for the Mercury Outboards were run on the lake. Neat story how they would take the judges to lunch or dinner while they would change powerheads on the engines to make sure that they ould run the full distance. They blew alot of the stumps out of the lake and it was full of alligators. The story from the test drivers talk about when they ran the boats at night, they could see the eyes of the gators from the headlights of the boats. This book is a must for any powerboater!
