Have a 1978 2+3-18. Original finish, always kept indoors and covered. Have done some trailering since I bought the boat in 1995, but most was spent in rack storage. Last Fall during layup, I noticed the bow eye had slight movement side-to-side. Removed the front navigation light for inspection. The backing plate and stop nuts looked intact. Bedding compound had deteriorated from around exterior base. Exterior gell surface looked OK. Tried to access bow area via cockpit, with no success (cramped opening over ski storage). Don't want to enlarge the navigation light mounting hole to tighten bow eye stop nuts.

Any suggestions?
Was this uncommon for Donzi? Any way to cure this situation? I try to apply moderate tension with bow tie-down when trailering.

Thanks.

Listen to Poodle, he has the answer. That's what I did when I had an 18. Got the kid next door to crawl up there and do the tight work. I used epoxy though.

If I had it to do today.....I'd probably use 5200.
