stringer

Hi everyone ,has anyone repaired part of their stringer. I just finished cutting them out just to the bulk head noticed some rotting wood it seem to come from the bolt holes in the moter mount ,but anyways i was wondering what type of wood should be used when replacing the stringer .It looks like a piece of fir but not sure any suggestions would be very helpful. Jeff,
I use all marine plywood. It was less voids and uses water proof glue.
