Hello family, Kathy and I are very proud parents of a beautiful baby girl. Born at 335 pm on wednesday. The unfortunate news is that the labor was destressed and my newborn angel has some bleeding on her small brain. I can tell you we have lived our best and worst day as humans, all in one day. Shelby is at the Neo Icu at all childrens hospitol in St petersburg. She is doing much better today, Kathy was able to hold her for the first time since birth. We are hopefull that she will recover soon and be able to come home. Please keep us in your thoughts. J&K frown

Congratulations! and keep your chin up, :) I know what you went through,my wife had a tough time with our first one.I was at the hospital for 3 days,I think I was in worse shape than my wife and she was the one in labor!!!All I can say is get ready it only gets better :D we will keep your family in our families prayers.

Congtratulations on the birth of your daughter!! Im sure the doctors are doing all they can. You have the tough part.....waiting. I sure hope all turns out well, and Christmas 2003 will always be special because of your daughters birth...

Thanks all for the prayers and thoughts. Shelby is now breathing on her own and is going in the right direction it is unbelivable how resilliant children are, today she will get a brain ultrasound to make sure the bleeding has stopped and hopfully receeded. the medication she is on is being reduced and she is looking more beutiful by the hour. She will hopefully be able to feed by tuesday. I cant even begain to describe the emotions. I will report later on her progress. This is a great place to express and be healed Thanks J&K

Amen!!! Great news, we have been wondering how things have been going. Now the fun begins...Changing diapers and getting up at 3 am to feed :D anyways MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Merry Christmas all, Shelby has been moved to a basinette her ultra sound on her brain came back with no more bleeding and her brain signals are all normal. She had her first real bottle of moms milk last night and is feeding on her own so the IV should be removed thursday. She is improving by the hour and we are causiously thrilled with her progress. Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers we are looking forward to getting home to a more normal life. Ill keep reporting as she improves and hope to get some pics uploaded soon.
P.S When I have more time I will explain why this happend and why it didnt have to happen, but for now all you donzi girls that are pregnant or going to please do you homework and I would suggest a C section no matter what!!

John and Kathy, your last post just made our Christmas complete! Your family has been in our special intentions these last few days. Occurrences like yours puts life into perspective, as in "don't sweat the small stuff, it's all just small stuff". Take good care and always remember that your have a lot of friends out here pulling for you and yours!
