I noticed when regestering that there were very few 1982 Classics regestered. My hull number DMR220410182 indicates that 22ft. 41st boat built,01 month of production Jan. of 1982.
Can anybody shed light about that year ?
Was that a good year for the boat ?
Its powered by Merc. with a TRS outdrive.
Any stats available as to how many produced by year back then ?
While reading on this site the true classics had left side steering.
Just curious if 82 was a rare year.
Thanks,
Jim

If I remember correctly in 1982 the economy was in the toilet, the Arabs were cutting off the oil. Jimmy C deregulated the price of fuel (thats why we are paying $1.40 instead of $4.00 for fuel). Inflation was 10+% andPaul Volker was tightening the screws (money market was paying 18%)
You couldn't give away a a high performance car or boat. Everyone was driving little cars and trucks with tiny engines (I had a Ford F250 4wd  and a 16' Correct Craft w/302 Merc :D )

I'd say 1982s were pretty rare. Is yours good quality. The late 80 Donzis were great.
I think Donzi was owned by the Chisholms at that time. They had alot of vision and built some GREAT boats!

Boat is in great shape. Rebuilt Outdrive last year. Stellings offshore headers through the transom, it breaths very well.
Mid 70's is my guess. Waiting for it to arrive from Seattle this week. Can't wait to have fun with all these Ca. Jet Boats that are all chrome and no go.
