What do you guys think? My first GPS speed test.

The boat topped out at 61.8 on the GPS with two people in the boat and around 20 gallons of gas plus full gear. The RPM was at 4100. The boat is a 1987 22 classic with 454 mag and an alpha drive. The prop is a Hoss? What do you guys think? Anyone know about Hoss props?

Not the correct prop for your 22.
Top Max RPM with a 454 Mag should be higher (either 4600 or 5000 rpms)
22s with 454 Mags run mid to upper 60s

I am running a 14 5/8x23 Mirage But Tomahawk is getting good results with a smaller diameter prop.

Roger that, Wes - 4100 rpm is low. I don't know from Hoss but, what is the diameter and pitch of the prop? Should be about 23" pitch. Sounds like you have too much pitch (25" ?) unless your tach is incorrect or the motor is a little weak.

502 22 Classic. Spins a 25 pitch mirage plus on a bravo at 47-4800 on up to 72GPS.
Find yourself a mirage plus 23 pitch and you should be very pleased with the results. Good luck, Todd
