Hey all, tried a new prop yesterday and was very dissapointed, was turning a 21 laser II and the little 16 with the 4.3 h0 stock would scream @5150 rpm's and 57.4 gps, send 21 to DAH pro pellers so I thought I'd try the 23 laser II, my boat never ran so bad, nothing about this pror was right, no hole shot, no acceleration, no top speed, I wonder why, unfortunately 21 laser will not be back for the eufala(lake george) at the end of the month, will try a 21 mirage or the 23, I will bring something that runs half way decent any way, dash upgrade is done and will attempt to post some pics soon, I think they look great!!

I been down the road with the 16 with props, Tried every prop, The best prop with the Vortech v/6 4.3 was the Stiletto prop 21 14x25x21 pitch. The prop turned me at 59.5 mph and I did see 61mph a few times. The Mirage is terrible. Hole shot stinks and top end was at the lower end of 50s. The Lazer is good I saw 57 I bought the stiletto. Cheaper faster and a more stable, The boat didn't chine walk anymore or porpose as bad at lower speeds. The prop brand new was 275. I sold mine to a friend for $100 when I sold the boat.

Frank,
I have a 4.3 16' running the 23 pitch mirage. You said you were able to obtain 59-61 with the stiletto 14.25x21. What was the
RPM's ? Jack.

My rpms were at 5200, I loved that prop. Do you have a Vortech 4.3 or a 4.3 regular

Frank,
I have 4.3lx Gen+ which according to mercruiser it has vortec heads. The RPM range
according to merc.is 44-46. Technically
I can obtain about 57, but would be
over reving the engine.

Jack, my tech actually recommends turning the 4.3 @ 5000 plus , he has been a master tech for approx 30 years with merc and has forgotten more than I will ever know, amd the boat does perform better at that rpm range!!
