I hadn't seen this YouTube video before. As a newbie to the helm of a Classic 22, I thought it to be a pretty good description of my experience so far...getting used to properly trimming her out and setting her up for different wave patterns coming up..."a drivers' boat."

Pretty funny comments follow about Tony Soprano showing the boat and the boats name, "Stugots".

Kinda felt for the dealer--seemed like the rook said about everything he could to discourage buyers. Glad they are being built again.

Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!

380 hp in a 22 and he gets 63 mph!

Donzi is the original go-fast offshore boat. Back in the 1970's, Don Aronow, founder of Donzi, basically invented the speedboat genre, and Donzi's were the fastest boats around.

With all the other stuff (like you point out), I was actually shocked to hear Jim Wynne's name.

Bill, I laughed at that too, and said to myself that in 30 seconds I could get it to at least 66. (They switched seats and exactly that happened.)

That's a pretty boat. I can't believe how excited the guy is going 60 mph. 🙄

With all the comments on speed I'm wondering what I'd be able to hit running light. I've never run the tank below half since we are on Georgian Bay and fuel stops are few and far between. Never done a run without at least one passenger either.

Witha heavy fuel load and passengers I can fairly quickly get it up to 68-69 and given our typical water conditions I never get a chance to run it out. This is around ~4500rpm.

Anyone have a good idea of what she should do running light? '01 22C 496HO B1 M25+

For what it's worth on a fast run I'm tabs all the way up and probably end the run with trim near top 1/3 of the gauge.

You should see 72-74mph GPS top end and should be right a 5100 RPM with that combo. The three blade props are a fast prop top end wise but on most 2000 and up 22 classics they do not handle as well at the top end and overall. A lot us run bravo 1 four blades you lose 2 mph or so but handling approves big time over the 3 blade props. Like I said not ALL 22's react the same each one tends to be very different.

I think 73 any day, 74-75 in perfect conditions running light on a cool day with a little chop. 75-76 on salt water. ChromeGorilla was able to get his 496 HO boat to 75 on salt.
